Chaos_OrderMotion and Video Project
Elisava Barcelona, 2023

Collaborative project working with Touchdesigner and analog process. The goal was to create an audiovisual experience that allows the viewer to grasp the eternal cycle of order and chaos. History, philosophy, and research all reveal that no system has ever endured without eventually collapsing. The spectator is given no opportunity to intervene or alter the experience; they are instead compelled to remain in the role of the observer.

Contrast was key to expressing the duality of order and chaos. The shift from digital to analog imagery reinforces this idea, as manipulated Kodak Gold 200 photos—scratched, burned, or treated with acid—create unpredictable, chaotic results. The video’s rhythm mirrors the cycle itself: calm, steady scenes embody order, while rapid cuts convey chaos. To heighten this contrast, the visuals are kept entirely in black and white.
